MARINE PERFUMES

Marine scents.

Fluid by definition, marine fragrances give the skin a sensation of freshness and freedom typical of summer. Ozone notes evoke the sea—tropical, azure, or wild, depending on the bouquets they're paired with.

Marine scents.

A bit of history. It was 1988 when perfumer Harry Fremont was the first to "bottle" the scent of the sea, creating an innovative scent. This was thanks to Calone, a synthetic molecule, thanks to which aquatic perfumes became increasingly trendy. " In perfumery, there are many molecules that recreate the marine scent . "It's interesting to underline how they can completely change a fragrance even when added in small quantities. The most intriguing aspect is that marine scents can be combined with unexpected notes, such as a dark rose or mysterious amber woods, thus giving life to unique fragrances.

Ozonated notes:

«The ozonated notes are obtained from synthetic molecules, which, combined with the scents of seaweed, salt or Calone, create the compositional bases for so-called marine fragrances.

Perfumes that smell of the sea can recreate the scent of sea foam or sea air, and give the fragrance a great deal of freshness."

They are currently very popular in the world of niche perfumery because they are characterised by a strong personality and versatility.

Ingredients that taste of the sea

" Marine fragrances are truly very different from one another, because ozonated or saline notes are combined with other essences that create various nuances. Citrus notes are the most commonly used, as they evoke summer." Furthermore, marine perfumes are characterized by the presence of ozonides, created by the encounter between oil and ozone through a bubbling process. The essences created have various beneficial properties for the body, such as bactericidal, antiviral, and antifungal, they oxygenate tissues, and have an anti-aging effect. Therefore, in addition to being a pleasure for the nose, they are also a pleasure for the skin.

Oceanic and Mediterranean scents

Not all seas are the same, so even marine fragrances can evoke different scents, from calm waters to stormy ones. Inspiration for different seas can come from the land surrounding them. The Mediterranean inspires the use of typical Mediterranean ingredients, such as helichrysum, orange blossom, and lemon. If you imagine a tropical sea, then you might think of sweeter notes like coconut, tiare flower, or passion fruit.
