Collection: Chypre

It was François Coty who created the first chypre composition which was an evocation of the atmosphere of the island of Cyprus, a favorite holiday destination for high society at the time. Coty recreated the sensations he felt during the journey in a perfume: if he had been a painter, instead of a perfumer, he would have painted a landscape.

It is an accord composed of bergamot, rose or jasmine, oakmoss, patchouli and labdanum. Some components of the original accord (such as, for example, jasmine) have been replaced by synthetic molecules which give greater impetus to the compositions and a more modern character.

Timeless fragrances belonging to this family are Mitsouko by Guerlain and Aromatics Elisir by Clinique. In a modern version, we find many fragrances among which Narciso Rodriguez for Her certainly represents the most successful one.

Evocations: refined, timeless, aristocratic elegance.
