Collection: Citrusy or Hesperidated

The name “speridato” derives from the Greek nymphs of the sunset, the Hesperides. Three in number, they had to guard the garden of the gods whose trees produced golden apples (oranges) which gave immortality and which Hercules, in the course of his labours, stole. For the ancients, this garden was located at the foot of the Atlas.

This family refers to compositions rich in citrus fruits, Mediterranean and more traditional, such as bergamot, lemon, mandarin, orange and grapefruit, or more exotic such as kumquat, lime and yuzu.

The essential oil is obtained from the peel of citrus fruits by pressing: the resulting note is very fresh and volatile. Some more recent technologies allow the cold extraction of all the volatile parts of the fruit juice being processed: the extracts obtained in this way contain a concentration of aromatic elements 150 times higher than fresh juices.

In 1988, with the dihydromyrcenol-citrus fruit agreement, which gave rise to Davidoff's Cool Water, the multifaceted new freshness.

The citrus family came to life from Giampaolo Feminis' Aqua Mirabilis to evolve into more traditional colognes including Acqua di Colonia 4711 and Acqua di Parma.

Evocations: freshness, sparklingness, joy.
